Frequently Asked Questions
Is ECU remapping safe for my engine?
Yes, provided the vehicle is healthy. Our calibrations are precision-engineered to operate strictly within the safe mechanical tolerances of your engine and drivetrain. To ensure total peace of mind, we perform a full diagnostic assessment on every vehicle before any software is installed.
Do you run diagnostics before tuning?
Always. Every vehicle undergoes a professional diagnostic health check to confirm the engine and supporting systems are performing as they should. If we find an underlying issue, we’ll advise you on a fix rather than risking a calibration on a faulty system.
Can a remap improve fuel economy?
In some cases, yes. By optimizing torque delivery, your engine doesn't have to work as hard to move the same load. This reduces the need for heavy throttle input and frequent downshifts. While real-world MPG depends on your driving style and vehicle condition, many of our customers report that they see an improvement in efficiency.
Will remapping damage my engine or gearbox?
A professionally calibrated map will not cause damage. However, remapping can sometimes highlight pre-existing weaknesses in components like a worn clutch, turbo, or emissions system. This is why our "diagnostics first" approach is so important—we prioritise the longevity of your vehicle over gain numbers.
Will a dealer remove my remap?
It is possible. If a main dealer carries out a factory software update, it may overwrite our tune. If this happens, your vehicle will return to its standard settings. If you find yourself in this situation, get in touch and we can assist with a re-installation.
Should I tell my insurance company?
Yes. You should always declare any performance or software modifications to your insurer. Failing to disclose a remap could potentially void your coverage in the event of a claim.
Do all tuners achieve the same results?
No. Results vary wildly based on the quality of the software and the health of the vehicle. We focus on realistic, usable gains that improve driveability rather than chasing exaggerated power figures that could compromise reliability.
Can a remap be removed?
Yes. In almost all cases, the ECU can be reverted to its original factory software should you need to return the vehicle to standard.
Do you only offer performance tuning?
No, beyond performance tuning, we provide AdBlue, DPF and EGR solutions, ECU cloning, and software analysis.
